Back in early June, Anthropic announced Fable 5 as a model with capabilities "exceeding those of any model ever made generally available." Its performance in all knowledge work, from software engineering to scientific research, was so "exceptional" that three days after the launch, the US government ordered Anthropic to suspend all access.

A few weeks ago, my Fitbit informed me that I have until February 2nd to migrate my account to Google. If I don't, the device I bought and have used for years will simply... stop working.

I'm a serial information devourer with a highlights-to-insights conversion problem. The pipeline works perfectly until the final step: all my carefully curated highlights just sit there in my Obsidian, like seeds that never get planted.

Here's the thing I kept missing: highlighting isn't thinking. Saving isn't processing. I was just accumulating raw material without ever doing anything with it.
